TORONTO - Four former Boston University women's hockey standouts were selected in the inaugural Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Draft, which took place on Monday at the CBC Toronto Broadcast Centre.
Jesse Compher '21 was the first Terrier off the board, going 26th overall to Toronto in the fifth round. Just seven picks later, classmate Corinne Schroeder '21 was selected in the sixth round by Boston as the third goaltender taken in the draft.
Two members of BU's class of 2018 will join Compher in Toronto as Victoria Bach (7th round, 38th overall) and Rebecca Leslie (12th round, 71st overall) were both selected.
Bach is the Terriers' all-time leader in goals (104) and points (198) while Leslie is the career leader in assists (102). Leslie and Compher rank fourth and ninth, respectively, on BU's career points list.
Schroeder posted the best career save percentage (.929) and goals-against average (1.98) in the program's 19-season history.
These four join Marie-Philip Poulin '15 in the PWHL as the three-time Olympic gold medalist was one of the initial stars selected by Montreal in the preliminary free-agency period.
