BOSTON - The Boston University men's track and field team competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the TTC on Friday with graduate student Foster Malleck leading the Terriers with a Top-10 program mark in the 3,000m.

Top-10 Terrier

• Malleck ran in the first open heat of the 3,000m, finishing in 7:56.78. His time is the fourth-fastest in BU history and helped him take fifth at the meet.

Top Performers

• Senior Dakota Jackson took second in the 60m dash with a time of 6.83.
• Sophomore Liam Gair placed fifth in the 500m, running 1:04.45.
• Freshman Karsen Vesty led BU in the mile with a time of 4:07.51.
• Sophomore Freddy Collins ran a personal best in the 3,000m, crossing the line at 8:10.27.
• Junior Sam Roszak jumped 6.77m (22' 2.5") in the long jump to place fifth in the meet. That ties his personal best mark indoor.

NCAA Roundup

• Nico Young of Northern Arizona broke the collegiate record in the 5,000m with a time of 12:57.14.
• South Carolina's Anass Essayi ran the 8th fastest 3,00m time in NCAA Division I history at 7:39.11. He was previously 10th on the list.
• Northern Arizona's Colin Sahlamn ran the 10th fastest mile time in NCAA Division I history at 3:53.17.

Eyes on Paris

• The 5,000m hoped to be an event for Olympic hopefuls, and it proved to be just that.
• Eleven men hit the Olympic qualifying standard which is 13:05 or below.
• Of those eleven, five finished in under 13 minutes which is the most men to run sub-13 at a single indoor track meet.
