Field Hockey to Visit No. 9 Harvard in Sunday NESN Game

Fresh off Sally Starr's 500th win as head coach of the program, the Boston University field hockey team will make the two-mile drive to face No. 9 Harvard on Sunday (Oct. 6) at Berylson Field. 

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is coming off a 3-2 home win over Holy Cross on Friday to improve to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in Patriot League play.
  • Junior Natalie Epperson scored two goals and sophomore Nicole Lauro provided the game-winner as the Terriers trailed 1-0 entering the fourth quarter before reeling off three goals in a span of just over three minutes.
  • Senior Payton Anderson is on a five-game point streak with 13 points (6g, 1a) during the stretch.
  • Anderson now has 71 career points (31g, 9a) and needs two more to move into BU's top-10 career list.
  • Senior Tegan Poerio and junior Megan Wetzel each have five assists on the season, which puts them tied for third among Patriot League players.
  • Freshman Addison Jay is the reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Week after helping BU defeat Lehigh last Saturday.
  • Graduate student Kate Thomason has started the past seven contests in goal for BU and has a 2.28 goals-against average and a .721 save percentage. 
SCOUTING HARVARD
  • The Crimson is riding a six-game win streak and most recently topped Yale, 3-1, at home on Friday.
  • Harvard's non-conference wins this season have come against William & Mary, Wake Forest, UConn, Vermont and UMass.
  • Sophomore Lara Beekhuis leads the team in points (13) and goals (6) while junior Kate Oliver is right behind with 11 points on five goals and an assist.
  • Junior Bronte-May Brough has a team-best four assists while seniors Emily Guckian and Lucy Leel have three goals apiece.
  • In goal, junior Tessa Shahbo has started all eight games and sports a .789 save percentage and a 0.98 goals-against average.
BU-HARVARD SERIES HISTORY
  • Sunday will mark the 41st matchup all-time between the two sides.
  • The Terriers are 20-19-1 all-time against the Crimson. 
  • Harvard has won the last seven contests dating back to 2016.
