BOSTON – Concluding its three-game homestand on Sunday (Dec. 1), the Boston University women's basketball team hosts Rider at Case Gym. Opening tip from The Roof is set for 1 p.m.
BU (2-3) looks to improve to 3-1 at home this season. The Terriers have scored 60-plus points in three consecutive games, and four of their five matchups this year.
Rider (1-4) aims to halt its three-game losing streak. The Broncs previously played Patriot League foe Navy on Nov. 4, dropping a 74-52 contest.
Sunday's game is the first of a BU basketball doubleheader, with the men's basketball program hosting Sacred Heart at 4 p.m. Fans attending the game have the opportunity to receive a free BU-themed Jibbitz shoe charm, the first of five different charms that will be available at BU basketball games throughout the season.
The women's basketball game airs on ESPN+, with Brian Maurer (COM'07), Jack Hughes and Caitlin Beal on the call. Live statistics and an audio-only broadcast are on GoTerriers.com, while the Patriot League provides an international stream.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers sustained a 69-61 loss to the reigning BIG EAST runner-up Georgetown on Wednesday (Nov. 27).
- BU trailed by as many as double digits to pull within one possession midway through the fourth quarter before the Hoyas closed the game on a 7-1 run.
- Senior Alex Giannaros drained eight of her 11 shots for a season high 24 points, hitting 5-of-7 from deep.
- Sophomore Bella McLaughlin posted 12 points and a career best six assists.
- Giannaros is one point away from 23rd place on BU's all-time scoring list, and 23 from 22nd place.
- The senior is 10th in Division I with 3.4 three-pointers per game, 12th with a .531 three-point percentage and 23rd with a .929 free throw percentage.
