TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU has won two straight games, including a 4-3 victory over No. 1 Boston College in the Beanpot semifinals on Monday night.
- The Terriers haven't trailed in either of those two triumphs, including a 6-3 win at then-No. 18/17 New Hampshire on Feb. 2.
- Freshman Macklin Celebrini has totaled two points in each of the last three tilts, including two goals against BC on Monday.
- He is now tied for the NCAA lead in goals (21), tied for fourth in the country with 39 points and is fourth overall with 1.63 points per game.
- Sophomore Lane Hutson leads all NCAA defensemen with 1.38 points per game, totaling 33 points on 10 goals and 23 assists.
- Sophomore Ryan Greene scored the game-winner on Monday against BC and has recorded eight points (2g, 6a) in his last seven games.
- BU has scored three or more goals in all but one game since its 4-1 win over Merrimack on Dec. 1, averaging 4.1 goals per game in that span.
- The Terriers have also allowed just 2.3 goals per game since Dec. 1, which is tied for fewest in the league.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU and Merrimack have played 128 times since first meeting on Dec. 11, 1964, and the Terriers hold a commanding 95-25-8 (.773) advantage.
- The Terriers are 1-2-8 in 10 overtime contests against Merrimack, including a 1-1 record last season.
- BU recorded the first 14 shutouts in the series until the Warriors blanked the Terriers for the first time ever during the 2018-19 season.
- The Warriors swept last season's regular-season series but BU has won three straight against Merrimack since those two losses last February.
- The Terriers have not lost in regulation to Merrimack at Agganis since Jan. 27, 2017.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- Merrimack has lost six straight games and has won just twice since the start of January, though one of those wins was a 4-1 triumph against nationally ranked UMass.
- Junior Matt Copponi leads Merrimack in points (30) and assists (23) while senior Alex Jefferies, who has not played at all during this six-game losing streak, paces Merrimack with 12 goals.
- Sophomore defenseman Zach Bookman is second on the squad in both assists (22) and points (25).
- Junior Hugo Ollas and senior Zachary Borgiel have each played 15 games this season, with Borgiel starting in all 15 of his appearances.
- Ollas stopped 34 of 38 shots against BU at Merrimack on Dec. 1 in a 4-1 defeat.
- He is 4-8-0 with a 2.89 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
- Borgiel, who stopped 33 of the 37 shots he faced in a 5-2 loss at Agganis on Dec. 2, is 6-8-1 with a 2.99 goals-against average and an .896 save percentage.
