No. 17/18 Terriers Cruise to 22-6 Win at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. - Graduate student Vince D'Alto recorded his 100th career assist as the No. 17/18 Boston University men's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-6 victory at Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at Kuzniewski Field.

BU (7-3, 4-1 PL) won its fourth straight Patriot League game thanks to an impressive showing by its starting attack unit, which combined for 19 points. Junior Brenden Kelly scored a career-high six goals while D'Alto tallied six assists and scored a goal as part of his milestone day. Graduate student Louis Perfetto added four goals and two assists.

D'Alto joins Perfetto as the only players in program history to record 100 goals and 100 assists as a Terrier. D'Alto, the program's all-time leading point producer, finished the day with 152 goals and 102 assists for 254 points.

Six different Terriers - freshmen Luke Davis, Tyler Fox, Colin Kruger and Donald Varnerin, along with sophomores Ryan Palmer and Tommy Garofalo - all recorded their first collegiate goals. Junior Jimmy O'Connell matched his career high with two goals while graduate student Thomas Niedringhaus also potted a pair of goals.

Sophomore Jimmy Kohr recorded a career-best two assists while junior Zach Travaglini also had a pair of helpers. Fox added an assist to complete a two-point day and freshman Gannon Kessler notched his first collegiate assist. Senior James Corcoran, graduate student Jake Cates and senior Dane DeGoler all recorded one assist apiece.

Junior Will Barnes was excellent once again for the Terriers, making 10 saves before being replaced by sophomore Kevin Barrett. Barrett stopped all three shots he faced in his collegiate debut before freshman Tommy Gentile made the one save required of him in relief of Barrett.

In addition to scoring his first goal, Davis had a monster game in the defensive midfield, recording a career-best six ground balls. Sophomore Connor Kehm and junior Trey Brown each tallied two ground balls and one caused turnover.

Four Terriers combined to go 20-for-32 at the faceoff X on Saturday. Junior Matthew Fritz was 7-of-8 with a game-high eight ground balls, sophomore Rich Rindos went 5-of-8 with one ground ball, graduate student Conor Calderone was 7-of-13 and freshman Michael Kitevski was 1-for-3 in his BU debut.
