Women’s Lacrosse Hosts American for Senior Day

BOSTON – Boston University women's lacrosse is prepped for its final home game of the season against American at Nickerson Field. Opening draw for the senior day game against the Eagles is scheduled for noon.
 
Saturday's game, in addition to being senior day, will also support the HEADstrong foundation which offers financial, residential and emotional support to families affected by cancer. 
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Most recently, BU picked up its first Patriot League win of the season in a 13-10 decision over Colgate.
  • BU was led by freshman Alex Cutone who had a career day, logging five points off of three goals and two assists.
  • Fellow freshman Tessa Geddes also scored three goals against the Raiders for her second career hat trick.
  • Junior Hannah Tillier is on a five-game points streak after scoring two goals against Colgate.
  • Senior Tobey Tick had three points from a goal and two assists against the Raiders. 
  • Juniors Abby Cotraro, Avery Jones and Raegan Bailey all netted one goal each in the last game.
  • Senior defender Ellen Monahan surpassed 100 career draw controls and now owns 102 as a Terrier.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Natalie Aiosa helped BU win with 10 saves in net for the fourth time this season.
  • The Terriers rank 44th in the NCAA and 3rd in the Patriot League in draw controls per game (14)
 
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
  • American is 6-8 overall and 2-5 in league play.
  • The Eagles are 3-3 on the road.
  • In its most recent Patriot League game, American defeated Bucknell 12-9.
  • The Eagles' road wins came against Howard, George Washington and Lafayette.
  • Eight freshmen and 26 upperclassmen make up the American roster.
  • Head coach Lindsay Teeters is in her fourth season at the helm.
 
THE SERIES
  • BU is 7-1 against American and 3-1 at home. 
  • BU defeated American at the close of the regular season in 2023 in a 19-15 decision.
  • The Terriers fell to the Eagles 16-12 at home in the 2022 season.
  • BU has never scored fewer than 12 goals against American.
