BOSTON – The Boston University women's lacrosse team travels north to face UMass Lowell on Wednesday. Opening draw against the River Hawks is set for 4:30.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers dropped a 10-9 double overtime contest against Lafayette.
  • Junior Hannah Tillier led the charge for BU with four goals to reach her fifth hat trick this season.
  • Sophomore Haley Matusz was essential in BU's effort to send the game into overtime by causing a turnover that led to Tillier's fourth goal moments later. 
  • Freshman Tessa Geddes, the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, totaled six goals and one assist in the games against Army West Point and Lafayette.
  • Senior Tobey Tick, junior Abby Cotraro and sophomore Elle Stevenson all found the back of the net against Lafayette.
  • Geddes leads BU in draw controls with 57.
  • Senior Ellen Monahan has 30 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers to lead BU in both categories.
  • Monahan is tied at No. 15 in the nation and No. 3 in the PL for ground balls per game (3.00).
  • The Terriers are No. 17 in the nation and No. 2 in the Patriot League in free position percentage (0.536).
 
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
  • UMass Lowell is 8-3 overall and 0-2 in America East play.
  • The River Hawks most recently fell to UMBC 14-12.
  • On the road, they are 6-2.
  • Lowell started the season on an eight-game winning streak which ended when it lost to then-No. 23 Brown in a 15-14 decision.
  • Eleven freshmen and 27 upperclassmen make up the Lowell roster.
  • Head coach Lisa Miller is in her fifth season at the helm.
 
THE SERIES
  • BU is 3-1 against Lowell and 1-0 on the road. 
  • BU last defeated Lowell on Feb. 16, 2019, in a 17-12 decision.
  • The Terriers fell to the River Hawks 11-9 at home in 2023.
