Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Holy Cross Thursday

BOSTON – Boston University women's lacrosse is set to travel to Holy Cross for the final game of the regular season. Opening draw for the Turnpike Trophy tilt with the Crusaders is scheduled for 6 p.m.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • In its last outing, BU fell to American in overtime, 12-11.
  • Freshman Alex Cutone led BU in points for the second game in a row, this time totaling four. Her nine points off five goals and four assists in the week led to an honorable mention for Patriot League rookie of the week.
  • Junior Hannah Tillier scored twice against the Eagles to bring her season total points to 36 which leads BU. She also scored once on a woman-down situation which is the third goal of that nature of her career.
  • Fellow juniors Abby Cotraro and Raegan Bailey also scored twice each against American.
  • Freshman Tessa Geddes leads the Terriers with 77 draw controls this season after she corralled three against American.
  • Geddes is 45th in the NCAA and sixth in the league in draw controls per game (5.13).
  • Sophomore Haley Matusz had a career performance in ground balls as she scooped up four.
  • Senior Ellen Monahan owns 43 ground balls this season which makes her 17th in the NCAA and third in the league in ground balls per game (2.87).
  • BU leads the Patriot League in shots percentage with a value of 0.403. It is also second in the league in woman-down goals per game with five this season.
 
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
  • Holy Cross is 10-5 overall and 5-3 in league play.
  • The Crusaders are 3-4 at home.
  • In its most recent Patriot League game, Holy Cross lost to then-#5 Loyola Maryland 21-6.
  • The Crusaders' home wins came against Bucknell, Iona and Fairfield.
  • Seven freshmen and 24 upperclassmen make up the Holy Cross roster.
  • Head coach Amanda Belichick is in her ninth season at the helm.
 
THE SERIES
  • BU is 13-3 against Holy Cross and 4-2 on the road. 
  • BU lost to Holy Cross 17-13 in the 2023 season at home.
