Finch Named To Silver Waves Media Most Impactful Assistants List

June 21, 2024

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Boston University women's basketball Associate Head Coach Brianna Finch has been chosen as one of 50 most impactful women's assistants in the country by Silver Waves Media, the organization announced on Friday (June 21).

Over the last five years, the Most Impactful Women's Assistants lists recognize some of the most outstanding and impactful assistants in Division I women's basketball.

Finch was one of three assistants from the Patriot League selected, joining Lehigh's Kaitlyn Cresencia and American's Kaity Healy. She is also one of three selections from Massachusetts-based schools, joining Boston College's Chris Meadows Sr. and UMass' Clare Fitzpatrick.

Recently completing her first season as associate head coach and third at BU, Finch helped guide the Terriers to a 20-12 record, tying for second place in the Patriot League with 10 conference victories. BU advanced to its second-consecutive Patriot League championship game, and third in four seasons.

Two Terriers garnered First Team All-Patriot League honors under Finch's guidance in senior Caitlin Weimar and junior Alex Giannaros, with Weimar becoming the program's first Patriot League Player of the Year, two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, and ECAC Division I Player of the Year.

During her tenure at Case Gym, Finch has helped BU garner 61 victories across three seasons. Back in 2022-23, the Terriers captured their first-ever Patriot League regular season championship, becoming the third team in conference history to amass 17 league wins.

Primarily in charge of developing the team's perimeter shooting, Finch saw BU set a program record that year with a .381 three-point percentage, as Giannaros led the nation with her 51.5 clip from distance.
