Rickman Named 2024 CRCA All-American

June 7, 2024

WILMINGTON, Del. – Following the conclusion of her senior campaign, Boston University lightweight rower Maecy Rickman has been selected as a CRCA All-American, the organization announced on Friday (June 7).

Rickman's honor is her first as a Terrier, and the 16th total All-American selection in program history. Overall, she becomes the eighth-different Terrier to receive All-American recognition.

To be eligible for CRCA All-American status, a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, must have rowed at least 75% of the season's races in the varsity boat, must be nominated by her institution, and the head coach of the student-athlete's institution must be a member in good standing of the CRCA.

Rickman is BU's lone selection on the All-American First Team, which is represented by six different schools. National champion Princeton led all institutions with three All-Americans.

The senior primarily operated in the stroke seat for BU's top eight boat throughout the spring. She helped BU's Lightweight 8 earn fourth in the Grand Final at the 2024 IRA National Championship Regatta, as the Terriers earned bronze in the team standings.

Earlier in the season, she stroked the Lightweight 8 to a victory in the Knecht Cup, capturing the Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Trophy for the second year in a row. BU's third-place finish in the Lightweight 8 event at the Eastern Sprints guided the Terriers to the Konrad Ulbrich Team Trophy, winning the Eastern Sprints for the first time since 2019.

In the fall, Rickman stroked the Terrier Lightweight Championship 8 at the Head of the Charles. Out of five crews, BU earned silver in a time of 17:19.902, placing second for the first time since 2017.
