Women’s Soccer Faces Local Foe Northeastern on Sunday

BOSTON – In the 25th installment of the rivalry, the Boston University women's soccer team hosts crosstown rival Northeastern on Sunday (Aug. 18). Opening kick is set for 6 p.m.
 
BU (0-1) seeks its first win of the season as it continues its three-game home swing. Northeastern takes part in its first match of 2024.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers opened 2024 with a 3-2 loss to Northwestern on Thursday (Aug. 15) at Nickerson Field.
  • The Wildcats scored three first-half goals, but two goals from junior Giulianna Gianino pulled BU within one. Northwestern goalkeeper Reiley Fitzpatrick made her lone save of the night in the final minute to prevent the game-tying tally.
  • Junior Morgan Weaver notched her first collegiate point on Gianino's second goal.
  • Senior netminder Celia Braun made six saves, giving her 157 stops in 56 career appearances.
