BOSTON – Fresh off its first Patriot League win of the season, the Boston University women's soccer program is back at Nickerson Field to host Lehigh on Saturday (Sept. 28). Opening kick is set for 1 p.m.
BU (1-6-3, 1-0-1 PL) plays at home for the first time since Sept. 5 after opening the 2024 campaign with five of its first six matches in Boston. The Terriers seek their first win at home this year.
Lehigh (1-5-4, 0-2-0 PL) has played just one road match since Sept. 2, and is 1-1-2 away from Bethlehem, Pa. this season.
Saturday marks the program's Alumni Weekend as well as its annual Pride Game. BU will wear pride-themed warmup shirts, while additional pride materials are available at the marketing table on the concourse. At halftime, Terriers from graduating classes ranging from 1995 to 2024 will be recognized on the field.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is coming off a 3-2 victory at Colgate on Wednesday (Sept. 25).
- Junior Margy Porta and sophomore Kaiya Stewart each erased one-goal deficits before junior Giulianna Gianino delivered the game-winner in the 88th minute directly off a corner kick.
- Freshman goalkeeper Bridget Carr tallied a career-high 11 saves.
- Carr and Gianino were featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays following the win. Carr's diving save in the 80th minute was No. 6, while Gianino's goal was No. 2.
- Moving to 35 career points, Gianino is now tied for 21st on the program's all-time scoring list, sharing the spot with Kara Olivo '99, Allison Merkle '03, and Lisa Kevorkian '11.
- She needs one more goal to earn a share of 12th place in the Terrier record books, and two points for sole possession of 19th place.
- Porta, who has scored in three-consecutive games, has set a personal-best with four goals on the year.
- Carr's 17 saves are the most by a Patriot League goalkeeper to start conference play.
- With 10 games under BU's belt this year, Gianino, graduate student Lily Matthews, senior Morgan Fagan, and freshman Jaiden Schultz are the lone Terriers to have started all 10 matches.
- BU is one of four teams unbeaten in the Patriot League schedule so far. Bucknell, Navy, and Holy Cross have each won twice to start conference action.
SCOUTING LEHIGH
- The Mountain Hawks are 1-5-4 on the year and 0-2-0 in their Patriot League slate, dropping games to Navy and Lafayette.
- Lehigh is on an eight-game winless streak, with its lone triumph coming against Seton Hall on Aug. 22.
- Dakota Russell leads seven different Mountain Hawks who have scored with two goals. Maggie Ousouljoglou has played every minute between the posts, making 42 saves.
- Lehigh was projected to finish fifth in the Patriot League preseason poll.
- Last year, the Mountain Hawks went 7-5-5, going 4-4-1 in conference play to earn the fifth seed in the Patriot League Tournament and reach the quarterfinal round.
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday marks the 13th all-time meeting between BU and Lehigh in a series that began when the Terriers entered the Patriot League in 2013.
- BU sports a 7-1-4 edge in the rivalry.
- The Terriers are 5-0-1 at home against the Mountain Hawks, with the lone tie occurring in 2023.
- Both sides played to a 2-2 draw in the regular season last year. Lehigh scored the first two goals before Natalie Godoy (81') and Gianino (82') leveled the score in Bethlehem.
- The teams would meet in the Patriot League quarterfinal round at Nickerson Field later that season. Kayla Ross (11') and Gianino (78') helped create a 2-2 deadlock that went to penalty kicks, where the Terriers triumphed, 2-1, to advance to the semifinals.
