BOSTON – For its 2024 non-conference finale, the Boston University women's soccer program travels to Yale on Tuesday (Oct. 1). Opening kick is set for 7 p.m.
BU (2-6-3, 2-0-1 PL) seeks to boost its winning streak as well as its unbeaten road streak to three games. The Terriers also look for their lone non-conference win of the campaign.
Yale (6-3-0, 1-0-0 Ivy) also participates in its last out-of-conference match this year. The Bulldogs enter Tuesday's tilt on a three-game winning streak.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is coming off a 6-1 triumph over Lehigh last Saturday (Sept. 28).
- The Terriers' six goals were its most in a single match since Sept. 16, 2017 against American, and marked the third time as a Patriot League member the Terriers scored six goals.
- Juniors Margy Porta (two goals) and Giulianna Gianino (one goal, two assists) as well as sophomore Kaiya Stewart (two goals) each totaled four points to lead seven different Terriers with points.
- Gianino was named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week after finishing with six points in BU's 2-0 week last week.
- Porta garnered Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week recognition after extending her goal streak to four games. She has scored five times in that span.
- BU and Holy Cross, also 2-0-1, are the lone remaining unbeaten teams in Patriot League play.
- Freshman goalkeeper Bridget Carr, named a Patriot League honorable mention on Monday (Sept. 30), paces her conference counterparts in league action with 20 saves.
- Porta and Navy's Alex Riddle pace the conference during league play with four goals. Sophomore Samantha Aronson is tied with three others for first place with three assists.
- Three of the Terriers' next four matches are on the road.
- Entering Tuesday, Gianino and senior Morgan Fagan are tied for 12th place on BU's all-time goals list.
SCOUTING YALE
- The Bulldogs are 6-3 on the season, most recently winning their Ivy League opener over Dartmouth, 2-1.
- Four of Yale's six wins have been shutouts.
- Ellie Rappole paces the Bulldogs with three goals and eight points. Kyla Holmes has played the majority of minutes in goal to the tune of an .867 save percentage and 0.61 goals-against average.
- Yale was projected to finish sixth in the Ivy League preseason poll.
- Last season, the Bulldogs went 5-6-5, but just 0-5-2 against their Ivy League colleagues.
SERIES HISTORY
- Tuesday marks the ninth all-time meeting between BU and Yale in a series that began in 1998.
- The Terriers sport a 4-3-1 edge in the rivalry.
- However, Yale has won all three contests in New Haven, Conn.
- All but one match in the series has been decided by one goal.
- Last year, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in Boston on Oct. 17, 2023. Porta equalized the match in the 36th minute, while Rappole scored 1:36 into the contest.

- The Terriers return to Patriot League action on Saturday (Oct. 5), hosting Navy for Soc'ToberFest as part of a doubleheader with BU men's soccer and Team IMPACT day. Opening kick is scheduled for 1 p.m.
