Men's Soccer to Open Three-Game Homestand with Saint Mary's Thursday Afternoon

BOSTON – After facing two opponents on the road, the Boston University men's soccer team returns to Nickerson Field for a three-game homestand, starting with Saint Mary's on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m.
The contest will be part of a doubleheader, as the Terrier women will host local rival Harvard at 7 p.m. In the men's last home game, also part of a doubleheader, BU battled then-No. 9 New Hampshire to a 0-0 draw.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU has yet to face a deficit so far through three games, netting the first goal during the first half in both games at Northeastern and UMass Lowell that ended up as 1-1 draws.
- The Terriers are currently riding a 15 home-game unbeaten streak (11-0-4), the third longest active mark behind West Virginia (16-0-4) and Denver (14-0-4).
- Both junior Quin DeLaMater and sophomore Jason Zacarias have netted their first career goals. A preseason All-PL honoree, DeLaMater is the lone Terrier to have played all 270 minutes so far.
- Junior Diego Rived leads BU with four shot attempts, including three on goal.
- Graduate student Andrew Wike started the first two games, posting a .909 save percentage and 0.50 goals against average. Junior Ben Alexander started the last contest at UMass Lowell, collecting four saves.
- Opponents so far are averaging 4.4 more shots per game (11.7-7.3) with a 17-5 advantage in corner kicks.
- Members of the West Coast Conference, the Gaels are 1-2 so far following last season's 8-7-2 (3-4 WCC) performance. They return four of their six All-WCC honorees.
- The Gaels started 1-1 at home with a 2-0 win over Cal Poly and a 1-0 defeat to Kansas City. They most recently fell at then-No. 13 Stanford, 4-1.
- Three different individuals in Wade Muttitt, Nick Strangio and Jude Zamora have all netted a goal this season so far.
- Sam Bentley (1-1) has started two games, posting a .636 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average with the shutout against Cal Poly. Jack Landreth earned two saves in his lone start against Kansas City.
- Through three games, opponents have averaged 3.7 more shots (10.7-7.0) with a 20-9 advantage in corner kicks.
- The teams will meet for the first time in program history.
- BU is hosting its first West Coast squad since upsetting then-No. 12 San Diego, 2-1, in 2002.
- BU will remain home and next face Santa Clara on Sunday (Sept. 8) at 6 p.m.
- The squads will meet for the second time ever and first since a 2007 matchup hosted by Providence that saw the Broncos prevail, 3-0.
