Women’s Soccer Heads to UNH to Open Four-Game Road Swing

BOSTON – The Boston University women's soccer program ignites a four-game road swing on Sunday (Sept. 8) when it travels to New Hampshire. Opening kick is set for 2 p.m.
 
BU (0-4-2) will play its first two contests against non-conference foes before beginning Patriot League action on Sept. 21. Sunday will mark just the second match away from home for the Terriers.
 
New Hampshire (4-1-1) will look to start a three-game homestand on a three-game winning streak. The Wildcats are 2-1 at home this year, with the lone setback occurring against UConn.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU recently dropped a 1-0 contest to unbeaten Harvard on Sept. 5.
  • The Crimson scored in the 32nd minute, and registered an 8-3 advantage in shots.
  • In four out of six matches in 2024, the Terriers have allowed single-digit shots.
  • BU continues to top the Patriot League with 6.17 corner kicks per game.
  • The Terriers last played on the road on Aug. 25, a 2-2 tie at Vermont.
  • BU has scored multiple goals in four out of its last five regular season road contests, dating back to Sept. 24, 2023.
  • Fifteen different Terriers have started at least one game in 2024.
  • The Terriers' last four-game road streak took place in 2022. During that stretch, the Terriers picked up wins over UMass and Lafayette. 
SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
  • The Wildcats are coming off wins over LIU (3-0 on Sept. 1) and Merrimack (2-0 on Sept. 4) during their streak.
  • Meghan Guarente has posted a team-best four goals and nine points, while Delaney Lappin has scored three times this year.
  • Playing every minute between the posts, Sally Rainey has registered a 0.67 goals-against average and .862 save percentage.
  • UNH was projected to finish third in the America East preseason poll, with Rainey earning Preseason All-Conference awards after being named the 2023 America East Goalkeeper of the Year.
  • That season, Hew Hampshire went 6-5-5, with its 3-1-4 conference mark guiding it to the America East quarterfinal round.

  • Sunday marks the 25th all-time meeting between BU and UNH in a series that began in 1996.
