PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior
Katie Devine scored a pair of goals and was one of three Terriers to convert in a shootout to lead the Boston University field hockey team to a 3-2 road victory over Brown on Sunday afternoon at Goldberger Family Field.
Devine scored off corners in the 18th and 37th minutes to erase deficits of 1-0 and 2-0. After two scoreless overtimes, the game went to a shootout. BU never trailed in the shootout with junior
Martu Coulo, Devine and senior
Payton Anderson converting their chances before graduate student
Kate Thomason sealed the win with a stop on Brown's final attempt.
The Terriers improve to 2-2 on the year while the Bears drop to 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Sophomores Maddie Hudson and Bella Bergner picked up assists on the tally.
- Driscoll came through with a huge defensive save off a corner in the 21st minute to keep the game tied.

- The Bears regained the lead at the 36:36 mark when Jule Rothenberger knocked in a pass from Katie McCallum.
- BU responded once again just 19 seconds later, using a corner to make it a 2-2 contest.
- Devine inserted the ball off the corner and rushed to the left post, where she sent in a rebound off a shot by Anderson at 36:55.
- Brown recorded the only shot of the fourth quarter but Thomason was up to the task and the game headed to overtime.
- BU quickly earned the first corner of overtime but two shots were turned aside by Del Monte.
- Five minutes later, Brown had its chance to win off a corner but was unable to record a shot on the play.

- BU went first in the shootout and Coulo converted her try before Thomason prevented Brown's Mia Karine Myklebust from scoring.

- Devine scored to start the third round before Brown's Lucy Adams followed that with a conversion to push the shootout score to 2-2.
- After neither team scored in the fourth, Anderson snuck the ball past Del Monte to kick off the fifth round and tally what would be the game-winner.
- Thomason clinched the victory when she dove to knock away the ball before Imogen Govan was able to take a shot.
