CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Boston University men's swimming & diving team opened up the second half of its season with a 141-139 dual win at MIT on Friday evening at the Zesiger Center Pool.

Sophomore Zein Mahana swept the diving events and five swimmers earned one victory apiece as the Terriers used their depth to secure the narrow victory.

Mahana's evening was highlighted by posting his collegiate best in the 1-meter with a score of 326.25. Freshman Giovanni Sullo (200 butterfly, 1:51.81) junior Ben Cho (50 free, 20.84), junior Tony Ponomarev (200 back, 1:47.31) and senior Jed Tan (50 fly, 22.18) all set season bests in their wins. Freshman Charles Schreiner added a victory in the 500-yard freestyle (4:34.18).

BU, which improved to 4-1 on the season, will host Colgate and Fairfield in a double dual on Saturday (Jan. 11) starting at noon.
