BOSTON – In a rematch of the previous two Patriot League championships, the Boston University women's basketball program hosts Holy Cross on Monday, Jan. 27. Opening tip is set for 4 p.m.
BU (7-12, 1-7 PL) seeks to halt its five-game losing streak and tally its first Patriot League home win on the season. Despite the four-game conference losing streak at The Roof, the Terriers sport a 44-11 mark against conference opponents, postseason included, on Commonwealth Ave. since the start of the 2019-20 campaign.
Holy Cross (14-5, 7-1 PL) enters Monday's matchup tied with Lehigh atop the Patriot League table. During conference play, the Crusaders lead the league in scoring defense, opponent field goal percentage and assists per game.
Monday features a Turnpike Trophy doubleheader with the men's basketball team, who faces the Crusaders at 7 p.m. As part of Student Club & Organization Night, eligible student organizations at BU have the opportunity to attend the game to win prizes such as customized gear, a BU game day experience or funds toward an upcoming event or travel.

- The Terriers sustained a 74-59 loss at Bucknell on Saturday (Jan. 25).
- BU trailed for over 36 minutes of game time as the Bison shot over 57 percent from the field.
- Junior Anete Adler led BU with a career high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
- Senior Alex Giannaros added 11 points and four assists.
- Sophomore Aoibhe Gormley filled the box score with 10 points, five assists and a career best five steals.
- Gormley became the first Terrier with five steals in a game since Sydney Johnson '23 against Holy Cross on Feb. 15, 2023. She now leads the Patriot League during conference play with 2.4 steals per game.
- Giannaros needs one more three-pointer to match Kristi Dini '09 for fourth place in program history on BU's all-time three-pointers list.
- In nine home games this year, the Terriers are shooting over 41 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from deep, compared to 30.4 percent from three for opponents.
- Entering Monday, BU ranks third in the Patriot League in average home attendance.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
- The Crusaders have on five games in a row, most recently defeating Loyola Maryland 53-27 after allowing just eight first-half points.
- Holy Cross is 8-3 in road games this year.
- Simone Foreman paces the Crusaders with 16.1 points per game but has not played since Jan. 8.
- Lindsay Berger (11.8), Meg Cahalan (11.4) and Kaitlyn Flanagan (11.1) are all averaging over 11 points per game during conference play.
- Holy Cross was projected to finish sixth in the Patriot League preseason poll under interim head coach Candice Green, who assumed the helm before the start of the season.
- Last year, the Crusaders captured their second consecutive Patriot League title and won their First Four matchup in the NCAA Tournament to play Iowa, ending the campaign with a 21-13 record and 11-7 against league opponents.
