TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU most recently split a weekend series with then-No. 7 Providence, rebounding from a 6-3 road loss on Friday to shut out the Friars, 3-0, on Saturday at Agganis.
- Freshman Mikhail Yegorov was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week after earning his first collegiate shutout on Saturday as part of a two-win week.
- Yegorov, who stopped 43 of 44 shots against then-No. 1 Boston College in the Beanpot title game, made 30 saves on Saturday and also picked up his first point with an assist on classmate Sascha Boumedienne's first career goal.
- Boumedienne completed a two-point night when he assisted on junior Quinn Hutson's 50th career goal.
- Hutson is fittingly the 50th player in program history to join the 50/50 club, as his 50th goal was also his 100th career point.
- He leads the Terriers in goals (17) and points (36) this season, matching his point total from last year.
- Freshman Cole Hutson leads all NCAA freshmen defensemen as well as all Hockey East defensemen, regardless of class, in goals (8), assists (21) and points (29).
- BU has killed the last 11 power plays it has faced dating back to Feb. 7 at Merrimack.
- The Terriers have allowed only 2.4 goals per game since the start of 2025 and have allowed just 2.0 goals per game in February.
SERIES HISTORY
- This will be the 253rd meeting between the Terriers and Huskies since they first met during the 1930-31 season.
- The only team BU has played more games against is Boston College (294).
- BU holds a 171-69-12 (.702) advantage over the Huskies, including an 18-10-2 edge at Agganis.
- In the 18 meetings that have taken place since the start of the 2018-19 season, 10 have gone to overtime, including three last season.
- The last four overtime games have all been 4-3 finals, with the teams splitting those contests.
- The two teams have played 36 overtime games in the all-time series, and BU holds a 14-10-12 edge.
- The Terriers have recorded 16 of the 21 shutouts between the crosstown rivals, with their most recent one coming in the 2022 Beanpot title game.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE HUSKIES
- BU bested Northeastern, 4-2, in the Hockey East quarterfinals last March at Agganis.
- Quinn Hutson, Luke Tuch and Case McCarthy all scored in the first period to give BU a 3-0 lead.
- The Huskies got within one before Macklin Celebrini gave BU a two-goal cushion with 4:25 remaining in regulation.
- Ryan Greene, Jack Harvey, Jack Hughes and Tom Willander each had one assist apiece.
- Mathieu Caron made 21 saves for the Terriers.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
- The Huskies enter the weekend 10th in the league standings.
- After winning four of its first five games of the new year, Northeastern has lost five of its last six, with the lone win in that stretch a 2-0 victory over UMass Lowell last Friday.
- Junior Jack Williams leads NU in goals (14), assists (17) and points (31).
- Freshman Quentin Sigurdson made his first collegiate start last weekend and stopped all 34 shots he faced to shut out UMass Lowell.
- He then stopped 23 shots and allowed just two goals in a 3-1 loss to UML the next night.
