ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Boston University men's track & field team finished third at the Patriot League Indoor Championships on Sunday, March 2 at the Wesley A. Brown Field House.
The Terriers finished with 93 points, falling to Navy (223 points) and Army West Point (153) in the process. The Terriers' mid-distance and distance events were the strongest as the 800m, mile and 3000m combined to give BU 50 points.
Three gold medals were handed out to athletes wearing the arch Boston on day two and the Terriers picked up three bronzes.
Graduate student
Foster Malleck earned two gold medals after winning the mile and the 3000 meters and set a facility and meet record in the mile, running a time of 3:58.11 to win the event. This is the second straight year Malleck has won the mile and his time is the first sub-four minute mark in the mile at this meet.
Freshman
Guy Margalit was the other gold medalist, reaching a distance of 15.40 meters to take first in the triple jump. On his fifth jump, Margalit reached 15.37m and put him in first before earning the extra .03m in his final jump.
HARDWARE STORE
- Junior Freddy Collins earned bronze in the 3000m, finishing in 8:09.10, earning his second career indoor medal in the event after winning the 3000m in 2024.
- In the 800m, freshman Thomas Cowan took home bronze in his first PL Championships with a time of 1:50.52.
- Junior Parker Schneider also picked up a bronze medal, taking third in the mile with a time of 4:03.24.
TOP 10 TERRIERS
- Margalit's mark of 15.40m is fourth all-time at BU. He is the third Terrier to enter the top 10 in the triple jump in the 21st century.
