BOSTON — The Boston University women's lacrosse team hosts No. 25/22 Navy in game one of the Lax-A-Palooza doubleheader at Nickerson Field on Saturday afternoon.
BU is coming off three straight wins, including two over PL foes, and is looking to extend its streak against the ranked Midshipmen, who just suffered a 20-19 double overtime loss to No. 18/17 Loyola Maryland on Wednesday. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m.

clicking here. It will be the first of a lacrosse doubleheader at Nickerson, as the men's team will host Holy Cross at 4 p.m. One ticket is good for both games.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Terriers rolled to a 17-8 win at Lafayette on the road on March 22, avenging three previous losses to the Leopards.
- BU bookended the game with impressive quarters, taking a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and closing out the game with a 7-2 final frame.
- Junior Elle Stevenson and sophomore Izzy Amonte each notched four goals, while graduate student Kendall Sims tallied her fourth career hat trick.
- Sophomore Natalie Aiosa made nine saves on 17 shots, earning the win in net.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- Sophomore Izabella Amonte has scored 23 goals this season and has 27 points, leading the team in both categories.
- With her four goals against Lafayette, Amonte became the first Terrier to score 20-plus goals in her first 10 career games since 2012, when Mallory Collins had 31 in her first 10 games.
- Amonte and sophomore Tessa Geddes both have excelled on free positions. Both are averaging .90 free position goals per game and are converting them at a 60 percent rate. Those numbers are tied for fourth in the Patriot League.
- In net, sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Aiosa has notched three straight games with a save percentage greater than .500.
- She has been stuffing the stat sheet – she is second in the Patriot League in save percentage (.513) and leads the PL in saves per game (10.10). In the NCAA rankings, Aiosa is 11th in save percentage and 17th in saves per game.
- BU's defense has excelled this season and in recent games, averaging just 8.00 goals against in the past three contests. BU ranks 23rd in the country and second in the PL with a 9.70 GAA this season.
- Senior Hannah Tillier sits just nine points away from 100 career points.
- Freshman Kaitlyn Barton has been a force on the draw this season, grabbing 51 this year. She is eighth in the PL in draw controls per game (5.10).
- Graduate student Kendall Sims has come alive in her final year, notching seven points in her last three games. She scored her fourth career hat trick at Lafayette and currently is fifth in the PL in ground balls per game with 2.33, also leading the Terriers.
SCOUTING THE MIDSHIPMEN
- The Midshipmen are ranked 25th in the latest IL Women Poll and 22nd in the latest IWLCA poll.
- They come into this matchup with a 7-4 record and a 2-1 record in the Patriot League - their lone conference loss coming to No. 18/17 Loyola Maryland in double overtime on Wednesday.
- Navy boasts a +3.64 goal margin over opponents and has scored the most goals per game in the Patriot League with 15.09.
- Freshman Alyssa Chung has been the Midshipmen's top scorer so far, scoring 32 goals in 11 games for Navy. The Midhsipmen have four 20-goal scorers, including IL Women Midseason All-American Emily Messinese, who has 30 goals and 15 assists.
- In net, Felicia Giglio currently has an 11.55 GAA (5th in the PL) and a .415 save percentage, which ranks ninth in the league.
THE SERIES
- BU is 3-9 against the Midshipmen all time and 1-3 at home.
- The Terriers last won in 2023 at Nickerson Field in a 12-11 win over No. 20 Navy – the first win over a ranked team since 2014. Since then, the Midshipmen have won both matchups between the teams.
- Last season, BU lost 20-9 to No. 18 Navy in Annapolis.
