
Senior defenseman Chris Dyment has earned his second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
Anchoring a defensive corps that has helped lead the Terriers to a nine-game winning streak, senior co-captain Chris Dyment (Reading, MA) was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 25.
Dyment finished with three assists and was a plus-3 during a weekend home-and-home sweep of Providence College, B.U.'s eighth- and ninth-straight victories.
On Friday night, the Reading,MA native picked up a pair of assists in the Terriers' 5-2 win over the Friars at Walter Brown Arena. The following night, he assisted on Mike Pandolfo's (Burlington, MA) 20th goal of the season as B.U. completed the sweep with a 4-2 victory.
For the season he has totaled 6-13--19 in playing all 32 games, while leading the team in plus/minus with a plus-23 on the year. For his career, Dyment has scored 19-48--67 in 136 games.
The Terriers, ranked fifth in the country, stand at 23-7-2 on the season, and 15-5-2 in Hockey East, good for first place with 32 points. The team's nine-game winning streak is the longest since the team won 14-straight during the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons.
It is the second time this season Dyment has been honored with the selection, and third overall. He was also named Defensive Player of the Week on December 9. As a sophomore, he was honored on November 29, 1999. Dyment earned Player of the Week honors on October 28.
B.U. will close out the regular season this weekend as they face the University of Maine in a pair of home games Friday and Saturday night, March 1 and 2. Game time for both contests is 7 p.m.
