The Terriers have reached the America East championship game the past four years and completed the 2005-06 season with an 18-12 overall record and a 9-7 conference mark. Boston University defeated Stony Brook and the University of New Hampshire in thrilling fashion in the America East Tournament, en route to its showdown with Hartford in the championship game. While the Terriers fell, 75-56, to the Hawks, the squad placed three individuals on America East all-conference teams. Rachael Vanderwal received AE first team honors and Christine Kinneary and Jesyka Burks-Wiley were named to the all-rookie team.
Third-year head coach Kelly Greenberg returns tri-captains Katie Meinhardt, Erica Kovach and Cheri Raffo, to lead this year’s talented crop. Juniors Kasey Devine and Corrine Jean, along with sophomores Amarachi Umez-Eronini, Kinneary and Burks-Wiley will also return to Case Gym for another season. In total, 12 letter winners return for the 2006-07 campaign. Three newcomers join the Terrier squad as Aly Hinton, Jacy Schulz and Kristen Folk will make their debut in the scarlet and white.
BU opens its schedule on the road with three consecutive away games. On Nov. 14, BU will travel to URI for a 7 p.m. contest, followed by trips to the University of Missouri – Kansas City (Nov. 18) and Northeastern (Nov. 21). The Terriers host their home opener on Nov. 26 when Canisius College comes to the Roof.
