NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Boston University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Ivy League foe Yale in New Haven, Conn., on Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs scored the game winner early in the first half and held on as the Terriers mounted offensive pressure. BU falls to 3-5-1 overall, while Yale improves to 4-3-0.

Sophomore Emily Pallotta (Andover, Mass.) led the BU offense with four shots, while junior Marisha Schumacher-Hodge (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded three, including one within the final five minutes that forced Yale goalkeeper Ayana Sumiyasu to make a save to preserve the shutout.

Red-shirt freshman and America East Co-Rookie of the Week Janie Reilly (Coral Springs, Fla.) made seven saves in net.

Yale scored the game winner at the 13:34 mark in the first half. Junior Maggie Westfal netted the goal on a give and go with freshman Becky Brown as she ran down the left flank. The goal was Westfal's fourth goal of the season.

Yale out shot BU, 16-14, and held the edge in corner kicks, 3-2.

BU opens its conference slate on Sunday, Sept. 30 when it hosts Vermont at 1:00 p.m. at Nickerson Field.
