BOSTON -
Senior Brian McGuirk (Danvers, Mass.) has been reinstated as a captain for the Boston University men's ice hockey team, as announced by head coach Jack Parker.
McGuirk was suspended along with three other teammates on Dec. 5 for a violation of team rules and was also stripped of his captaincy. Senior Pete MacArthur (Clifton Park, N.Y.) took over as captain following the suspensions, which were lifted prior to the Dec. 30 contest against Merrimack. McGuirk and MacArthur will serve as co-captains for the remainder of the season.
"Brian has handled everything very well," said Parker. "He has shown a great deal of maturity since returning and has continued to be an important leader for this team. He has earned the `C' back and then some."
McGuirk and the Terriers will return to action tonight when they play host to Dartmouth at Agganis Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
