WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After tallying five points, including his first career hat trick, in a weekend sweep of Massachusetts, senior forward Jason Lawrence of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named Reebok Hockey East Player of the Week for the this second time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday.

On Friday in Amherst, Lawrence helped the Terriers rally from a 3-0 deficit by recording a natural hat trick, including the game-tying and game-winning goals in the eventual 6-3 victory.

In BU's 7-2 home win over the Minutemen on Saturday, Lawrence scored his 20th goal of the season and also added an assist.

For the season, Lawrence has 30 points on 20 goals and 10 assists. He is tied for second among Hockey East players in goals and he is just the second Terrier since 2002 to reach the 20-goal mark in a season.

Lawrence, who was also named national Player of the Week by Inside Hockey, joins teammate Colin Wilson, Vermont's Victor Stalberg and UMass' James Marcou as the only two-time winners of the league's Player of the Week award this season.

Lawrence and the Terriers will wrap up the regular season with a home-and-home weekend against Providence. BU visits the Friars on Friday in a 7 p.m. start before Lawrence and his classmates are honored as part of Senior Day on Sunday at Agganis Arena beginning at 2 p.m.
