BOSTON - Five Boston University women's soccer players were named to New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England teams, the organization announced over the week. Seniors Corie Halasz and Shauna Kelleher, along with junior Jessica Luscinski were named to the first team, while junior Alice Binns and grad student Lisa Kevorkian were named to the second team.

The announcement comes just 10 days after the NSCAA announced its All-Americans and All-Region teams, which saw Kevorkian earn All-America Fourth Team honors and Kelleher, Halasz, and Luscinski earn All-Northeast Region First Team accolades. This is the first postseason honor for Binns in 2010.

Halasz, the 2010 AE Defender of the Year, led a defense that ranks eighth nationally with a 0.52 goals-against average and is third with 13 shutouts. Halasz, who had a goal and three assists this season, was an All-Conference First Team selection in 2006 and 2010 and has battled back from injury to regain her all-conference form.

Kelleher served as the field general from the defensive midfield position for the Terriers and went on to claim the 2010 AE Midfielder of the Year honor. An All-Conference First Team choice for the past two seasons, Kelleher has three assists this season and has played a significant role in BU's league-leading scoring offense (2.27 gpg). The Terriers have won 51 of the 78 career games she has played.

Luscinski, the 2010 AE Striker of the Year, has been a major contributor ever since arriving on campus in fall of 2008. An All-Rookie Team selection that year and an All-Conference First Team selection in 2009, Luscinski finished the 2010 season ranking second in America East with 31 points and 12 goals. Her seven assists ranked second. She also has 56 career points, which ranks her eighth all-time among BU scorers.

Binns earns her first postseason accolade after a standout campaign. She was named the AE Goalkeeper of the Year, and helped guide a defense to one of the longest shutout streaks in NCAA history, ranking second all-time. Binns finished the season with a 0.49 GAA and .884 save percentage.

In her first season as a Terrier, Kevorkian made a lasting impression as she netted 14 goals and seven assists for 35 points to rank third in the BU annals for single-season goals and points. Additionally, in just one season with BU, her 35 career points places her 16th among the program's all-time scorers.
