The No. 15 Boston University field hockey team will wrap up its 2011 regular season on Saturday (Oct. 29) when it visits Fairfield for an America East tilt. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

The Terriers (9-8, 3-1 America East) have won all six prior meetings against the Stags, including 4-0 and 5-0 shutout victories in 2010 and 2009, respectively.

BU has secured the No. 2 seed for next weekend's America East Championship, which will be hosted by New Hampshire. The Wildcats have already secured at least a share of the league regular-season title, but the Terriers can also earn a share if they defeat Fairfield and UNH falls to Albany on Saturday.

Fairfield (9-7, 1-3 AE) ended a four-game skid with a 2-1 road victory against Vermont last Saturday. The Stags opened the year with wins in eight of their first 10 non-conference games.

Senior Marit Westenberg leads the Stags in points (18) and goals (7) and shares the team lead in assists (4). Freshman Felicitas Heinen has had a solid rookie year with 14 points on six goals and two assists.

In goal, junior Maddy Sposito has a 7-5 record and sports a 2.53 goals-against average and a .685 save percentage.

The Terriers are paced offensively by a trio of juniors, including Macey Gaumond, who leads the squad in points (19) and goals (8). Classmates Jacinda McLeod (7g, 3a) and Tabi Hatch (5g, 4a) have registered 17 and 14 points, respectively. Senior Kate Murphy is enjoying the best season of her career with 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Valentina Cerda has played in 15 games, making 11 starts, and boasts a 1.40 goals-against average and a .783 save percentage.
