Junior back Jacinda McLeod of the Boston University field hockey team has been named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-America Second Team. The Whangarei, New Zealand, native becomes the 25th player in Terrier field hockey history to earn All-America accolades.

The first-ever two-time America East Defensive Player of the Year, McLeod has earned all-region and America East All-Conference First Team honors in all three of her seasons thus far at BU. In addition to her standout play as a back, she was once again a large part of the Terrier offense this season, ranking second on the team in points (21), goals (8) and assists (5), and was named to the America East All-Championship Team.

McLeod becomes the first BU defender to earn All-America Second Team honors since Colleen McClay '06 in 2005. She is also just the fourth foreign player to be a field hockey All-American at BU, as Vera Schoenfeld, a native of Germany, was a two-time honoree in 1995 (first team) and 1996 (second team) and Leonie Kortenhorst (1996 - third team) and Suus Dekker (2007 - second team) earned the national honors after coming to BU from Holland.

McLeod was one of five America East players to earn All-America recognition, the highest total in the league since 2007, when the Terriers matched a school record with three All-Americans (Pam Spuehler, Dekker, Sarah Hudak).

In addition, McLeod was named to the WomensFieldHockey.com All-America Third Team for the second straight year.
