2011 NFHCA Final Division I Poll
The final National Field Hockey Association Division I Coaches' Poll was announced on Tuesday and Boston University came in at No. 13 - its highest final ranking since the 2007 season. The Terriers were the top-ranked Massachusetts school in the poll and finished third among teams from New England.
The 2011 squad posted an 11-9 overall record playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation. All nine losses came against teams ranked 17th or higher at the time they faced them.
BU finished one win shy of the NCAA tournament, as it reached the America East title game for the fifth time in the last seven years.
This marks the 18th time in the last 23 seasons that head coach Sally Starr has led the Terriers to a spot in the final national poll.
