The Boston University field hockey team got its spring season underway on Saturday at UConn after naming Kiley Allosso, Kali Cardoza, Giovanna Monaco and Kate Murphy its captains for the 2011 campaign.

Cardoza will enter her fifth year with the Terriers and join Monaco, Murphy as part of BU's five-member senior class on next year's team. Allosso is a rising redshirt junior.

Allosso, Monaco and Murphy are among eight returning starters and are expected to anchor the BU backfield this upcoming season while Cardoza will be the veteran of the team's strikers.

While Saturday's play was indoors, the Terriers will kick off the outdoor portion of their spring schedule whey they return to UConn to face the Huskies and UMass on March 26.
