BOSTON - Racing with a berth to their respective National Championships on the line, the Boston University women's rowing team will compete at the 38th-annual EAWRC Eastern Sprints in Camden, N.J., while the men will be in Worcester, Mass., for the 65th EARC Eastern Sprints on Sunday morning.
The ECAC will be audio casting the EARC and EAWRC Sprints. Fans can access the broadcasts live on Stretchinternet.com.
In addition, listeners without web access may tune in to the EAWRC Sprints via telephone connection by calling (508) 534-7389. The EARC Sprints will be conducting a beta test this year with live video. Fans can watch by clicking here.
The three-time Eastern Sprints champion women will begin competition on the Cooper River at 8:20 a.m. in the third varsity eight race. The No. 13 seed varsity eight boat will follow at 8:40 a.m. BU will also have boats racing in the 2V8, V4a and V4b.
On the men's side, the USRowing Poll's fifth-ranked Terriers are seeded fourth in the varsity eight race, which will take place at 11:36 a.m. on Lake Quinsigamond. The No. 3 freshman eight boat will start the competition at 10 a.m.
The format of the Eastern Sprints consists of two sessions. There are three morning heats for each event with as many as six boats racing in each heat. The top two finishers from each heat will advance to the Grand Final in the afternoon with the next two advancing to the Petite Final and the remaining boats competing in the 3rd Level Final.
