Terriers, O'Connor Honored by Hockey East

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After backstopping Boston University to its second win over a top-ranked team in seven days, freshman Matt O'Connor has been named Athletic Republic Hockey East Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. The Terriers were also named the Hockey East Team of the Week after closing out the first semester with a pair of victories.

O'Connor made 31 saves on Thursday in a 3-2 road victory over then-No. 1 New Hampshire. Just six days prior, O'Connor led the Terriers to a 4-2 home win over top-ranked Boston College. He now ranks second in the league in save percentage at .931 and fourth in goals-against average at 2.22.

After Thursday's triumph at UNH, the Terriers closed out the first half with a 1-0 home win over Maine. BU enters the semester break with a 10-5-0 overall record and a 8-4-0 Hockey East mark.
