WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After scoring a goal in both ends of last weekend's home-and-home split with then-No. 1 Boston College, sophomore Evan Rodrigues of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named the Athletic Republic Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Rodrigues scored his second and third goals of the season during the weekend series with the Eagles and added an assist in Friday's 4-2 triumph at Agganis Arena.

After assisting on junior Garrett Noonan's goal that opened the scoring on Friday, the sophomore winger gave the Terriers a 2-0 lead with a wrister from the right circle off a rush.

Rodrigues finished the scoring in Saturday's 5-2 loss at Conte Forum when he contributed his first power-play goal of the season late in the third.

For the season, Rodrigues is tied for fourth on the team in points with 10 on three goals and seven assists.

Rodrigues, who shared the weekly honor with UNH's Grayson Downing, is the first BU sophomore to earn Hockey East Player of the Week accolades since Chris Connolly back in the 2009-10 season.
