The varsity eight boat defeated both Columbia and Syracuse in the same race for the second time in three years.

After capturing the Lusins Cup against No. 10 Columbia and the Conlan Cup against No. 14 Syracuse on Saturday morning in New York City, the No. 13 Boston University men's rowing team's varsity eight boat has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Coxed by sophomore Lauren Harvey and stroked by junior Moritz Franz, the Terriers' varsity eight boat posted a winning time of 6:00.9, defeating Columbia by 4.0 seconds and Syracuse by 8.7 seconds.

The first-place result marked the second time in three years that the varsity eight boat finished ahead of both the Lions and Orange in the same race.

Other boat members include junior Lenny Futterman, senior Kosta Gioulekas, junior Danny Neilson, senior Marko Bezbradica, senior David Fette, junior Kyle Peabody and freshman Oliver Salonna.
