The Boston University men’s hockey team continued its partnership with Autism Speaks over the weekend, volunteering at two events to raise money and awareness for autism.

On Sunday members of the team traveled to Suffolk Downs in East Boston where the Allstate Life Insurance Boston 13.1 Marathon benefiting Autism Speaks took place. The Terriers cheered on runners as they finished their runs and interacted with participants throughout the day at the Autism Speaks tent.

On Saturday members of the team helped officiate and judge the Autism Speaks AMRAP competition at CrossFit Homebase in Canton. The Terriers helped judged the competition as teams competed in elimination rounds of 11 Minute AMRAP (as many reps as possible), signifying a new diagnosis of autism every 11 minutes.  Over $5,000 was raised at the event.

During the upcoming season, the men’s hockey team will continue to wear blue Autism Speaks puzzle-piece patches on their jerseys to help promote awareness for Autism Speaks.
