Highlighted by a third-place finish in the heavyweight eight and a first-place finish in the heavyweight four, the Boston University men's rowing team continued its impressive fall season at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase on Sunday in Princeton, N.J.

Competing against a strong field of Division 1 schools for the second consecutive week, the Terriers' first varsity eight, coxed by senior Lauren Harvey and stroked by junior Vass Ragoussis, finished with a time of 13:01.74, good for third place behind only Princeton and Yale and ahead of crews from Cornell, Penn, Navy and Cal. BU's top boat lost some time on the course when they got tangled behind Cal while passing them in the last quarter of the race. BU was able to fight through Cal, who started ahead of BU for the third place finish.

Showing its depth, the Terriers' second varsity eight, coxed by freshman MacKenzie Hart and stroked by senior Gregor Dierks, finished 12th with a time of 13:28.28. BU's third varsity eight finished in a time of 13:46.28, for an overall 26th place finish in the deep field of 64 boats.

Later in the day in the men's heavyweight four event, the Terriers "A" boat continued BU's string of impressive results by finishing first. Coxed by senior Lauren Harvey and stroked by sophomore Fionnan McQuillan-Tolan, the "A" boat completed the course with a time of 14:24.52, ahead of Cal, Princeton, Penn and Wisconsin. The Terrier's "B"-boat had the fastest time among "B" boats and finished 6th overall, ahead of "A" boats from Cornell, Dartmouth, Navy and Syracuse. The "C" and "D" boats finished 8th and 14th overall, respectively.

"I thought it was a good day for the program", said Head Coach Thomas Bohrer. "We would have liked to been a place or two higher for each of the eights. We have a very motivated group of young men and women that race well together and want to win. It was nice to see the "A" boat win the heavyweight four.  It put a nice ending to the weekend."

The Terriers will complete their fall season on November 22nd at the Foot of the Charles.
