LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Boston University field hockey team suffered its first Patriot League loss of the season on Saturday, as the Terriers fell on the road to Bucknell, 5-2, at Graham Field.

The Terriers move to 4-5 overall on the year, while the Bison improve to 6-2 with a 2-0 conference mark.

Sophomore Bea Baumberger Altirriba scored her first collegiate goal for the Terriers and classmate Hester van der Laan added her third tally of the season.

Bucknell got goals from five different players to remained undefeated in the Patriot League. The Bison took a 2-0 lead into halftime before Baumberger scored off a corner in the 47th minute.

The Bison, however, regained their two-goal cushion just over a minute later on a corner of their own.

Bucknell extended its lead to 4-1 before van der Laan scored on an impressive individual effort at the 55:55 mark. The sophomore dribbled through the Bison defense and penetrated the circle before drilling a reverse-stick shot to the boards while falling down.

The home team added a fifth goal in the closing seconds to secure the victory.

Senior goalkeeper Valentina Cerda Eimbcke made six saves on the day and got some help with three defensive saves, including two from van der Laan. Freshman Allie Renzi added her second of the season.
