BOSTON-Northeastern's late efforts were enough to defeat the Boston University women's soccer team 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field. The Huskies (4-2-2) put pressure on net late in the game, sending three shots on net in the final eight minutes with the final attempt getting past
Alyssa Parisi to secure the win.
Neither team was able to put together much of an offense over the first half, with Northeastern having the only attempt on net in the first 45 minutes. The teams exchanged chances throughout the second half but NU gained control in the final eight minutes, sending two excellent shots on net that Parisi got a hand on to preserve the tie.
The Huskies would send in the game-winner in the 85th minute, however, when a well-placed corner kick set up Northeastern's Bianca Calderone on the left side, which she sent past Parisi on her far side.
BU was unable to gain control of the ball in the final five minutes and dropped its second home game of the season.
The Terriers continue their homestand on Saturday in their Patriot League opener against Navy at 12 p.m. on Nickerson Field.
