BOSTON - Junior Matt Gilbert recorded four saves and three different Terriers found the back of the net to lead the Boston University men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Albany on Tuesday night at Nickerson Field.

With their fourth straight home shutout win against a non-conference opponent, the Terriers improve to 10-3-1, as the Great Danes (7-7-1) had their two-game win streak snapped. Coming off last year's 12-4-4 record, the defending Patriot League regular season champions have also clinched back-to-back 10-plus win seasons for the first time since 1997-98.

Sophomore Adam Sheikali earned his first career multi-point game by first assisting on classmate Danny Foen's goal in the 32nd minute. He later tallied his first collegiate goal in the 58th minute with a low shot inside the near post. Fellow sophomore Eric Udelson also found the back of the net for the first time as a Terrier at 54:07 with the assistance of junior Felix De Bona.

Foen's game winner occurred 31:03 after he kicked in the golden goal at Lafayette this past Saturday while on his back. He lofted a high shot from the left side 25 yards out that curled over the keeper Danny Vitiello and went inside the far post.

After making stops at 12:36 and 21:00, respectively, Gilbert made his most impressive save of the night at 42:13 to help BU maintain a 1-0 advantage entering the locker room. The Great Danes earned a free kick from 25 yards out, and Leo Melgar rifled an attempt through the defensive wall at the left post. Gilbert dove to his right with outstretched arms to make the save and would later add one more at 84:29 to seal the win.

Udelson extended the lead at 54:07 when his shot from the top of the box went off a defender and inside the right post. Sheikali put the game away three minutes later when he intercepted a short free kick from the keeper and drove toward the box before scoring BU's third goal of the night.

Despite the Great Danes finishing ahead in both shots (16-12) and corners (5-4), the Terriers claimed their fifth straight victory against Albany in the first meeting between the two programs since BU departed the America East for the Patriot League in the summer of 2013.

With their seventh shutout of the season, the Terriers will next resume their conference schedule at home against Lehigh on Saturday (Oct. 24) with action slated for 7 p.m.
