BOSTON -
The Boston University women's soccer team finished its spring schedule on a high note, tying with Dartmouth, 0-0, and defeating New Hampshire 2-1 on Saturday at Nickerson Field.
The Terriers are now looking forward to the 2015 season and have already began preparations by selecting captains. Ariana Aston, Rachel Blauner and Jenna Fisher will be BU's leaders next season.
"We are in good hands!" head coach Nancy Feldman said of the tri-captains. "With the seven rising seniors, including these three formal captains leading us this coming fall, we have terrific role models and competitors that demonstrate how to be successful on and off the field."
Feldman has also finalized the 2015 schedule, which will consist of nine out-of conference games and nine Patriot League matchups. The Terriers will start the year with two mid-August scrimmages against New Hampshire and Monroe College before opening the schedule with six straight games on the road.
The team will look to start the season in similar fashion to last year, which started with wins over La Salle and Boston College.
BU opens the season with a Commonwealth Ave. showdown at BC on Aug. 21, one of its most familiar foes. The Terriers won by a score of 2-1 last season, the Eagles' only blemish through the first nine games of the season. BU will then travel to LaSalle on Aug. 24. Last year the Terriers claimed a 2-1 victory over the Explorers in the season opener.
On Aug. 28 and 30, BU plays games at Marquette against Northwestern and Marquette, respectively. This will be the first time in program history the Terriers and the Golden Eagles have met and just the third time BU and Northwestern will meet.
The Terriers return to Boston for the start of September, visiting the Northeastern campus on Sept. 3. Northeastern was the only Boston-area school that bested BU last season, including in the NCAA First Round, and the Terriers look to change their fate against the Huskies in 2015.
BU wraps up its six-game road trip at Central Connecticut on Sept. 11 before hosting Hofstra in its home-opener on Sept. 13. The Terriers have never lost to the Pride in their nine-game history, but their meeting on Nickerson Field will be the first time the pair has matched up in 14 seasons.
Providence visits BU on Sept. 17 in the final non-conference game before the Patriot League schedule begins. The Terriers earned a 2-1 win against the Friars last season to maintain their perfect 4-0-0 series record.
The Patriot League opener will be at home this season against Bucknell on Sept. 20. The Terriers have never dropped a contest with the Bison since their first meeting in BU's inaugural season in the conference.
The Terriers will hit the road for two games to round out September, playing at American on the 26th and Colgate on the 30th for a rematch of the Patriot League Championship game. BU returns to Nickerson Field on Oct. 3 for a matchup with Loyola Md. The Greyhounds were the only team in the Patriot League to defeat the Terriers last season.
BU takes a hiatus from its Patriot League schedule on Oct. 6 to finish up its non-conference slate against Harvard at home. Last season BU won a 2-1 decision with the Crimson in a hard-fought, two-overtime contest.
The Terriers resume conference play at Lafayette on Oct. 10 before returning home for the final two home games of the regular season. Lehigh visits BU on Oct. 17 and Holy Cross comes to campus on Oct. 21.
BU hits the road to finish the regular season, first against Army on Oct. 24 and then at Navy on Halloween.
