Having some time at home this summer has been great! It’s so nice being able to see friends and family and have home cooked meals! Luckily I live close enough to Boston that I have been able to drive in a couple of days each week and take a Business Law class and workout with our strength and conditioning coach Jill Zeller and the rest of the coaches. It’s weird being on campus when the whole team isn’t in the locker room every day, making plans together, and meeting up in the dining hall so I am definitely excited to having everyone back on campus in July!

On the days that I’m in Boston I have also been heading over to Minuteman Health for my part-time internship. Minuteman Health is a start-up insurance company and I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with its Chief Actuary and help out with organizing and analyzing some of the company’s member data.

Outside of Boston I have been spending a lot of time going to the beach with my family in Rhode Island. The weather hasn’t been great, but on the weekends in the summer we always go with much of my extended family. Last weekend we went out on our friends’ boat and it was beautiful out. We were able to head over towards Watch Hill and passed Taylor Swift’s house right on the water.

I have also been able to hang out with a lot of my friends from Connecticut. I went to a Dave Matthews Band concert a couple of weeks ago, which was a blast! We’ve also planned a few cookouts to get everyone together but it has been hard because everybody has summer internships and we have all become so busy! I also have a couple of graduation parties to attend before I come back for BU’s second academic summer session. A lot of our family friends in my neighborhood have kids that just graduated so I’ve been getting some awesome free food—always a plus!

As for the rest of June, I am excited to finally take my law final and head home for the weekend to spend a few more days with my family before I come back full time for second session. I am looking forward to having a few days of down time once my class ends, but I am excited to get back and see everyone in just a few days!
