BROOKLINE, Mass. - An overtime blast from 22-yards out would decide a dogfight of a game as the Boston University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Northeastern on Thursday night at Parsons field.

The Terriers (0-4-1) tied the game in the 79th minute but the Huskies (4-1-0) ultimately came out victorious.

NU pressured offensively throughout the game, outshooting BU 19-5 and dominating corner opportunities, 9-1. Alyssa Parisi had a career night, making nine saves throughout the contest and beating her previous record of eight stops.

It took 64 minutes and several athletic saves by Parisi before the Huskies broke a scoreless affair to take a 1-0 lead. NU's Carina Deandreis served a ball from the midfield that Parisi came out to contest but co-leading scorer Carly Wilhelm beat her to the punch and chipped it over her head and into the net.

Boston University ended its 386 minute scoreless drought late in the second half to tie the game and force its second overtime of the season. McKenna Doyle, who has had her foot in every goal this season, was able to tally the equalizer and her first collegiate goal on a play that developed deep in the midfield.

Lauren MacLellan served a ball from 35 yards out that landed at a defender's foot just above the six-yard box but Clare Pleuler used a slide tackle to force it past her and Doyle knocked it over the goal line to tie the game at 1-1.

Northeastern had four shots and two on net during the first overtime period but the Huskies' lone shot in the final stanza would decide the game as Kayla Cappuzzo, the other scoring leader, handled an inbound and took it all the way, blasting a shot from 22 yards out that hit the left post and bounced into the net.

The Terriers have the week to regroup and then are back in action on Friday, Sept. 11 at Central Connecticut State.
