HOW IT HAPPENED
- The contest was suspended in the 42nd minute on Friday evening due to lightning and was resumed on Tuesday where it left off.
- It was the second Turnpike Trophy contest of the year - following women's soccer - with BU tacking on another point to take a 2–0 lead in the rivalry competition.
- Senior Hester van der Laan was named the Turnpike Trophy MVP after scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist.
- After bringing a 2-1 lead into Tuesday, the Terriers added an insurance tally from sophomore Kara Enoch, who notched her second goal of the game and fourth of the season in the 56th minute.
- The goal came off a corner as Enoch redirected an offering from van der Laan to the netting from the left-center of the circle with 14:38 to play.
- Holy Cross recorded only one shot in the game and it found the boards at 16:16 on Friday.
- The Crusaders took advantage of a BU turnover and Madeline Alderfer found Maureen Connolly open on the right side, where she tucked a shot inside the near post to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
- After a 40-minute lightning delay, Enoch provided an equalizer in the 25 minute when she sent home a rebound in front of the cage following a saved shot by senior Sara Martineau.
- The Terriers took the lead with just 11 seconds left in the opening half when a corner play was set up for van der Laan, as the senior drilled home a shot to the center boards on assists from classmate Taylor Blood and sophomore Ally Hammel.
- Just 6:08 into the second half on Friday, another spurt of lightning forced another delay that ultimately led to the postponement.
