BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After leading the way for an offense that generated nine goals over two games, senior
Caroline O'Brien and junior
Nicole Lauro have been named the Patriot League Offensive Player and Midfielder of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
O'Brien completed an incredible September with two more standout performances. She scored the game-winner and added an assist in a 3-2 road win over Holy Cross on Friday before putting up two goals and assist in Sunday's 7-6 loss to New Hampshire. This is the second PL Offensive Player of the Week honor for O'Brien this season and the third of her career.Â
Lauro helped generate offense throughout the win over the Crusaders and then scored twice against the Wildcats with redirects off corners. This marks the first PL weekly honor of Lauro's career.Â
O'Brien had a hand in 14 of the team's 19 goals scored in September with the senior striker posting eight goals and six assists during the month. The 22 points are the most for a BU player entering October since Pam Spuehler had 23 in 2007.
Lauro ranks second on the team this season in both points (8) and goals (4).
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 4) when they vist Lehigh. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
