The 2016 Patriot League regular-season title will be on the line Saturday (Oct. 29) when the No. 14 Boston University field hockey team visits No. 20 American. Game time at Jacobs Field is set for noon.

The Terriers (11-5, 4-1 PL) and Eagles (11-5, 5-0 PL) have secured the top two spots in next weekend's Patriot League tournament. The winner of Saturday's match will host the four-team tournament and be the No. 1 seed.

American had a five-game win streak snapped on Sunday in a 6-1 loss to No. 9 Delaware. Saturday wraps up a season-ending three-game homestand for the Eagles, whose top wins this season have come against James Madison, William & Mary, Drexel and Michigan State.

BU has won eight of its 10 meetings with American including each of the past four. The only losses came in the Terriers' inaugural Patriot League season in 2013 when the Eagles won in the league championship game, 3-0, after earning a 1-0 road win at New Balance Field earlier in the season. The Terriers are 4-0 in the league tournament since finishing as runner-up in 2013.

The Eagles are led by senior Natalie Konerth, who has team highs in points (25) and goals (12). Sophomore Rafaela Rubas is close behind with 22 points on eight goals and six assists and junior Leah DiGiandomenico has contributed 19 points on seven goals and five assists.

Sophomore Maura Jacobs has been the Eagles' primary goalkeeper this season and sports a 2.03 goals-against average and a .693 save percentage to go along with two shutouts.

Seniors Amanda Cassera (9-2--20), Hester van der Laan (6-4--16) and Taylor Blood (4-7--15) continue to sit at the top of BU's scoring list. Seven others have tallied at least two goals to provide a balance scoring attack.

The Terrier defense rank sixth in the nation with a 1.21 goals-against average and senior Cammy Jensen ranks seventh among the nation's goalkeepers with a 1.24 mark in addition to a .730 save percentage, which is good for 22nd.
