• Boston University and Northeastern wrap up their weekend home-and-home series after skating to a 4-4 draw at Matthews Arena on Friday.
• Following last night's game, BU is 20-8-5 all-time in Hockey East openers and undefeated in its past seven (5-0-2).
SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the 229th meeting between the Terriers and Huskies since they first met during the 1930-31 season. The only team BU has played more games against is Boston College (271).
• BU holds a 161-58-9 (.726) advantage, including wins in nine of the past 11 meetings.
• The Terriers are 26-7-5 against Northeastern in regular-season meetings since the start of the 2005-06 campaign.
• BU is 11-6-2 (.632) in the teams' 19 meetings at Agganis Arena.
• The two teams have played 25 overtime games in the all-time series, and BU holds an 11-5-9 edge. The Terriers have recorded 12 of the 15 shutouts between the crosstown rivals.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
• Northeastern, which is coming off its first-ever Hockey East title, was winless in its first three games (0-1-2) this season before reeling off three straight home wins (1 vs. Bentley, 2 vs. Arizona State).
• The Huskies are averaging 34.1 shots per game through their first eight contests.
• Senior Zach Aston-Reese has a team-high 13 points on five goals and eight assists while sophomore Adam Gaudette (6g, 6a) and junior Dylan Sikura (3g, 9a) have contributed 12 points apiece.
• Sophomore Ryan Ruck has started all eight games in goal and sports a 2.45 goals-against average to go along with a .901 save percentage.
• Jim Madigan is in his sixth year as head coach at his alma mater and has a career record of 82-83-25.
LAST NIGHT AT MATTHEWS
• Despite holding three separate one-goal leads in the third period, the Terriers settled for a 4-4 draw with the Huskies on Friday night.
• Freshman Clayton Keller gave the Terriers a 4-3 lead at 15:44 of the third with his second goal of the night but the Huskies potted an extra-attacker goal with 55.6 seconds left to force the third tie of the third.
• The Huskies opened the scoring 6:57 into the game on a 5-on-3 advantage before Keller executed a shorthanded wraparound 17 seconds later.
• Freshman Patrick Curry used a nifty redirect from the inner edge of the right circle to record his first collegiate goal and give BU a 2-1 lead at 17:22 of the first.
• The teams then went exactly 25 minutes without a goal before the Huskies drew even at 2-2 with another power-play tally 2:22 into the third.
• A tip-in at the foot of slot by sophomore Jordan Greenway at 8:55 of the third allowed BU to regain the lead at 3-2.
• That advantage was wiped out just over two minutes later when Northeastern got a goal from Dylan Sikura, making it a 3-3 affair.
• BU held a 36-30 shot advantage and went 1-of-7 on the power play.
