LEWISBURG, Pa. – In a rematch of last year's Patriot League Final, the defending conference champion Boston University women's soccer team rallied to send the game to overtime but came up just short at top-seed Bucknell, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bucknell's Jessica Ratner recorded six saves in the first half, as the Terriers had an 8-3 advantage in shots, to keep the game scoreless entering the locker room.
- The Bison jumped out ahead at 50:45 when Alexis Gannon flicked a cross from Meghan Holtz to Maddie Mulford for the finish and 1-0 lead.
- The Terriers needed just 30 seconds to net the equalizer, as freshman Ann Marie Jaworski scored off sophomore McKenna Doyle's cross inside the Bison's box.
- After Ratner made an impressive diving save off her first shot attempt in the first half, freshman Shannon Keefe got through the Bucknell backline in the 77th minute but sailed her shot over the bar while being pressured from behind.
- The Bison dominated possession to start the overtime and finally converted at 94:36 when Cora Climo managed to flick in a long cross from Jackie Ham inside the right post for the golden goal.
GAME NOTES
- Senior Erica Kosienski, sophomore Julianna Chen and junior Alivya Wimmer were named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team.
- Jaworski scored her first-career goal to help send the game to overtime.
- Senior Bridget Conway finished with four saves, including one in OT, while Ratner had six for the Bison.
- BU finished tied with Bucknell in shots, 13-13, while edging the Bison in corners, 6-5.
- The Terriers were seeking their fourth straight Patriot League title with two of the previous three occurring on the road.
- Bucknell handed BU its last two losses of the season (2-0 on Sept. 18) and snapped the Terriers' 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1).
- A member of the Patriot League since the summer of 2013, BU went to overtime in a conference final for the first time since 2005 and had its 12-game unbeaten streak (11-0-1) in title games dating back to 2000 snapped.
- The Patriot League title was decided by a golden goal for the first time since 2009.
- Bucknell improved to 3-0-2 in overtime games this season, while Terriers fell to 1-1-1.
