BOSTON - Looking to build on its record start, the No. 9 Boston University field hockey team closes out a five-game homestand on Saturday (Sept. 17) when it takes on Colgate in the Patriot League opener. Game time at New Balance Field is set for 1 p.m.

The Terriers are off to a 6-0 start for the first time in program history and moved four spots up to No. 9 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll.

Dating back to last season, BU has won eight straight home games and is 8-1 at home in Patriot League play since joining the conference in 2013.

The Raiders are 1-6 on the year and are looking to end a six-game skid after opening the year with an overtime win over Bryant.

Seniors Emily Brash and Kayla Robinson and junior Molly Klare each have one goal on the year for the Raiders while junior goalkeeper Maria Krull is tied for the nation leads in saves (72) and boasts a .720 save percentage.

BU is 5-1 all-time against Colgate and a perfect 3-0 since joining the Patriot League. Last season in Hamilton, the Terriers blanked the Raiders, 9-0. The Raiders' lone win in the series came in the first meeting back in 1983.

The Terriers' balanced scoring attack has been a huge reason for the team's early-season success. Six different players have recorded a game-winning goal and nine players in total have scored at least one tally.

Senior Amanda Cassera continues to lead the team in goals (4) and points (10) and shares the assist lead with three others at two apiece. Classmate Taylor Blood has eight points (3g, 2a) and junior Allie Renzi and senior Hester van der Laan each have two goals and an assist.

Sophomore Ally Hammel, the reigning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, has helped to anchor a defense that has allowed one or fewer goals in five of the team's six games this season.

In goal, senior Cammy Jensen continues to put up impressive numbers. She ranks 11th in the nation in goals-against average (1.19) and 13th in save percentage (.774).
